Lamphey genuinely welcomes visitors. Pop into the Dial Inn for
lunch or dinner (well-managed, looked-after beers, decent fresh local
produce, especially fish, properly cooked and interestingly presented) and you'll find that
local people will happily come up and chat, and pass the time of day with
you.

I like it because the people who work here seem to genuinely like the
animals, and have respect for them - in return, the (deeper thinking)
animals such as the reindeer are affectionate and calm back to
visitors.

Just don't go on one of those July days when there are school
trips! Great for little ones, with lots of hands on stuff
for them - and I enjoyed being taught how to milk a goat.

Best thing is to drop your older kids off at the gate at 10 am and
arrange to collect them at 4 pm. Much better at the start
and the end of the season, when, so I'm told, there are sometimes no
queues at all.
